Progress Coordinator

DescriptionSouth Thames College are now looking for a Progress Coordinator to develop and manage the delivery of a high-quality, cost-effective support service to learners with physical disabilities, medical conditions, sensory impairments, mental health issues, learning difficulties and other inclusive needs to meet the College’s strategic and operational objectives.
You will act as the nominated person for referrals from professionals working with the young person and assess the individuals needs, including risk assessments, and act as a lead for an agreed caseload of learners including assessing support needs, requesting high needs support funding, coordinating support packages that meet EHCP outcomes and chairing EHCP annual reviews.
We’re looking for an individual who has a successful and proven track record in managing a support provision in a post 16 educational setting for learners with mental health issues, physical disabilities, medical conditions, sensory impairments, learning difficulties and other support needs to enhance achievement rates
Able to communicate effectively at a variety of levels, you will have good working knowledge of how to support learners in an educational context and have good working knowledge of the SEND reforms, equality & safeguarding legislation and the implications for the Learning Support Service.
Experience of coordinating and supervising a team is also essential, as is a proven track record of delivering staff development training
A Level 3 qualification [or above] in Social Work or Advice & Guidance is desirable, however, this is not essential.
