✓Job Description:
✓As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant [SEND TA] for complex learners, you will be responsible for providing dedicated support to students with a range of special educational needs
✓You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a tailored learning experience that addresses individual needs, promotes independence, and fosters social and emotional development.
✓Key Responsibilities:
✓Provide one-on-one support to students with complex learning needs, including but not limited to autism, learning disabilities, speech and language difficulties, and physical disabilities.
✓Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans [IEPs], ensuring that specific learning objectives are met.
✓Support students in accessing the curriculum, adapting teaching materials and resources as required.
✓Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting self-esteem and independence.
✓Encourage and facilitate effective communication and social interaction among students.
✓Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and reporting any concerns.
✓Assist with personal care needs, as necessary, ensuring the well-being and safety of students at all times.
✓Contribute to the planning and organisation of educational activities and outings.
✓Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and any incidents or interventions.Qualifications and Requirements:
✓Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably with complex learners and special educational needs.
✓Strong understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
✓Knowledge of special educational needs policies and practices, including familiarity with relevant legislation.
✓Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
✓Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with complex learning needs.
✓Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
✓Basic knowledge of assistive technology and alternative communication systems is desirable.
