Overview:
First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit a Senior Engineer to join their team in Halewood, Liverpool.
The successful candidate will work closely with the management team and will have a direct reporting line to the Plant Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote safety and a Zero Accident culture.
Drive Systematic improvements into Safety using SMART auditing and tracking of issues to closure.
Lead our SOS in Halewood and subject matter expert [subject to training].
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legalisation.
CDM lead and auditor for Halewood based projects.
Lead All Plant Health and Safety reviews and track items to closure.
Empower their team to accept responsibility for their roles in the delivery of tasks.
Single point of contact for GERTs, plus ICA/PCA report externally.
SIRS/RATS lead.
FOS Safety lead.
Ensure training needs are prioritised and completed to ensure competency.
Prepare the department and area for new programs as we transition into Power Unit production
Ensuring a collaborative approach between PTME and Halewood to resolve issues quickly.
Interpret and implement the Companies personnel policies and maintain an efficient & consistent level of performance.
Ensure housekeeping is maintained to a high standard.
Layout approval on behalf of Safety.
Demonstrate knowledge and application of continuous improvement through Kaizen activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
Formal Qualifications in Occupational Health, Safety, Ergonomics, Industrial
Degree in Engineering plus experience in a safety role.
Computer literacy, including MS packages.
NEBIOSH Diploma.
Desirable:
Hygiene or an associated discipline.
Membership in a professional safety institute or industry group.
Experience:
Thorough knowledge of state and national OHS laws and Codes of Practice.
High level of motivation, innovation skills and initiative.
Evidence of leadership, interpersonal and team building skills.
Good communication skills and be able to delegate clearly, effectively, fairly, and consistently.
Be able to cope with change, have a flexible approach towards change and be prepared to respond to change initiatives in a proactive manner to ensure efficient running of the operation.
Experience in a similar safety advisory role in industry [preferred].
Production experience in a manufacturing operation is an advantage.
Operational knowledge of most of the following safety programs in manufacturing: Power Lock out/tag out, Working at Height, Contractor management, risk assessment [not exhaustive].
