2nd Application Support Engineer

DescriptionA leading fintech client of ours is seeking an experienced 2nd Line Application Support Engineer to join their dynamic team
You will provide second-line support to clients, act as an escalation point, monitor and manage databases and application environments, resolve support calls/incidents, and contribute to proactive maintenance and health checks
The role also involves supporting Cloud-based customers, participating in service review meetings, and sharing knowledge within the team.
This role will be hybrid in Glasgow and will involve on-call work.
Required Skills:
Minimum 2 years of application support experience

Proficiency in T-SQL, Windows Server administration, and problem-solving

Experience with ITSM tools and knowledge of ITIL processes
Desirable Skills:
Experience with public cloud platforms [Azure, AWS]

Ability to diagnose and resolve database performance issues

Mentoring experience and knowledge of the Financial Services industry
