This fast-paced and stretching role is situated within our Health & Disability function.
DWP supports over 2 million people with disabilities and health conditions who apply for health-related benefits, every year
We're transforming this service, putting claimants at the heart of it, to provide the best experience for users and ultimately, the taxpayer.
As an Interaction Designer you'll be helping design and deliver services that are simpler, faster and easier to use.
You'll be working alongside other user centred design professionals who are committed to deliver the best possible outcomes for all of our users, ensuring everything we design is accessible to everyone.
You'll join a highly supportive community, sharing your expertise, and learning new skills from those around you.

What skills and experience do you need to show us?
User focus: Use data from research and analytics to understand user's needs and test designs to meet them.
Evidence and context-based design: Work with others to design solutions that are based on evidence, and help identify gaps in knowledge.
Prototyping: Use a variety of prototyping tools and techniques.
Communication: Present your work and share design decisions, explaining ideas in a way that people understand and actively listen to other people's input.
Accessibility: Design with accessibility in mind, showing familiarity with the WCAG 2.1 guidelines and designing to meet AA standards.
Collaboration: Work in the open, engaging others in the design process.Details

We operate a hybrid working model with a mix of home working and some time in the office.
In return for your skills, we offer a competitive salary of up to £41,480 p.a.
