Analytical Development Chemist – HPLC

DescriptionPE Global is currently recruiting for an Analytical Scientist for a 12 month contract role with a leading multinational Animal Health client based in Speke.
Provide analytical expertise to the Global QC Analytical Service Centre supporting manufacturing / customer supply, quality, commercialisation, and regulatory aspects of the business
Experience of HPLC method development/remediation [ideally of both large and small molecules] as well as method validation and transfer are essential
The position works collaboratively within a small dedicated team to deliver various analytical projects.
Job Responsibilities
• Own and lead analytical projects within the ASC Laboratory, ensuring that customers and management are regularly informed of progress and adherence to schedule.
• Lead and perform analytical method development and validation to GMP standards and second person data verification [2PV]
Lead activities associated with the creation, review and approval of method validation protocols and reports, test methods and associated procedures.
• Lead and perform analytical investigations into suspect results as per procedures
Review and trend analytical data within the ASC Laboratory using appropriate statistical tools.
• Lead and perform troubleshooting, method variability reduction and method improvements as required.
• Lead method transfer activities and provide expert training to Elanco/3rd party laboratory staff QCL staff as required
Lead activities associated with the creation, review and approval of method transfer protocols and reports.
• Liaise with the following groups within the wider Elanco Global Quality Laboratory team [eg Pharmacopoeial Review Group, Global Reference Standards group]
• Represent ASC Laboratory at technical meetings with other functions, eg Regulatory, Technical Services, Quality, R&D.
Requirements
• A minimum of an upper second class honours degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology or related discipline.
• Strong proven laboratory experience [at least 5 years] ideally within a pharmaceutical analytical environment
• Proven hands-on experience of HPLC method development/remediation and validation.
Desirable
• Experience of Waters chromatographic integration package ‘Empower’ would be beneficial
• Knowledge of statistical data analysis techniques [eg JMP]
