✓Location: Harrow, North West London
✓School: Mainstream Secondary School
✓Contract: Full time, long term [September 2023 - July 2024 in first instance]
✓Pay: £80 - £90 per day dependent on experience
✓We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sports Teaching Assistant to join our team at a reputable Secondary School in the Harrow, North West London
✓As a Sports Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students within the sports faculty and assisting in various other areas as required
✓This is a term-time only position, and the working hours are 36 hours per week.
✓Responsibilities:
✓Supervise classes in the absence of the subject teacher, both within the assigned sports faculty and in other faculties as per the cover rota.
✓Liaise with staff to understand and effectively communicate the requirements of the assigned work.
✓Provide clear instructions and support to students, motivating and encouraging them as necessary to enhance their learning experience.
✓Implement the school's Behaviour Policy and keep accurate attendance records.
✓Assist the Curriculum Leader with administrative/technical tasks as directed.
✓Deliver small group tuition following appropriate training.
✓Assist with first aid in emergencies [training will be provided].
✓Essential Skills and Experience:
✓Interest in working with young people and belief in their potential for success
✓Degree in Sports or Physical Education
✓Robust and caring disposition with patience and empathy
✓Ability to explain concepts clearly
✓Natural motivator with clear boundaries and a firm but fair approach
✓Confidence in dealing with young people aged 11-18 years
✓Well-organised and practical
✓Positive and caring attitude
✓Enthusiasm for and commitment to working in a co-educational, multicultural comprehensive school
✓Strong verbal and written communication skills
✓Flexibility in approach
✓Excellent attendance and punctuality record
