Summary of the Bid Writer role:
Our client is looking for a Bid Writer to provide a professional bid writing service for both their technical and soft service solutions, thereby aiding the company to achieve its goal of significant sustainable growth
The Bid Writer will be responsible for contributing to and submitting winning bids by having ownership of RFI and RFP from new and existing clients
Leading bid writing from arrival to submission, supporting and producing high quality documentation to predetermined deadlines, the Bid Writer will be the primary and accessible point of contact and the source of bidding expertise for the company.
Bid Writer Deliverables / Outcomes [include but are not limited to]:
- Take ownership of PQQ, RFI and RFP from new and existing clients.
- Ensure the sales process is followed at all times.
- Understand and keep up to date with developments across the business.
- Develop presentations to potential clients using internal graphic design resources.
- Consistently develop winning themes and solutions.
- Attend and facilitate bid ‘kick off’ and bid ‘adjudication’ meetings.
- Developing and maintaining a central library of bid information and support material.
- Developing a written bid showing creativity and entrepreneurial approach.
- Embrace a collaborative learning culture within the team and the wider business.
- Adding value through identification of new opportunities and collaboration within the Sales team to win new business where appropriate, leveraging industry knowledge and contacts.
- Understand the company’s goals so that bids are aligned to continue to enhance the company’s growth.
- Attend departmental meetings as required.
- Assist senior management as requested.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Degree level and/or relevant professional qualification.
- Ability and experience in delivering bids and outputs to a high level of quality within stipulated timeframes.
- Knowledge of relevant FM sectors.
- Knowledge of operational activity.
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload to agreed deadlines.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, aligned with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to sensitively manage competing priorities and key stakeholders.
- Ability to demonstrate reliability and flexibility to cope with the varying demands of the role.
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Location: Glasgow [preferable]
Start date: Immediate
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 [depending on experience]
