Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Ocean Freight Forwarder
As a key player in our logistics operations, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of ocean freight shipments

£28K- £32K Depending on Experience
22 days increasing to 25 holiday plus bank holidays.

Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end ocean freight operations, including booking, documentation, and tracking of shipments
Liaise with customers, carriers, and agents to ensure smooth communication and timely execution of shipments
Prepare and review shipping documents, such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations
Collaborate with customs brokers to facilitate customs clearance and ensure adherence to import/export requirements
Coordinate with warehouse teams to arrange for efficient loading and unloading of cargo
Monitor shipment schedules, transit times, and delivery milestones to meet customer expectations
Resolve any issues or delays related to shipments, such as port congestion, vessel rerouting, or customs holds
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of shipment details, including tracking numbers, container numbers, and relevant documentation
Continuously improve processes and seek cost-effective solutions to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction
Requirements
Previous experience as an Ocean Freight Forwarder or similar role in the logistics industry
In-depth knowledge of ocean freight operations, including documentation, regulations, and carrier procedures
Strong understanding of international trade, customs requirements, and import/export regulations
Excellent organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with diverse stakeholders
Proficiency in using logistics software and systems related to ocean freight operations
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently
