An exciting opportunity has emerged for a talented and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to join our client, the UK's primary independent distributor of market-leading industrial compressed air, pneumatic, electro-mechanical motion control, and fluid handling equipment.
They are the crucial link in providing solutions for today's industrial manufacturing companies, specializing in installing, maintaining, designing, and building process and automation control systems.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a vital role in the installation, commissioning, maintenance, service, and repair of compressed air and vacuum equipment, including PSSR examinations.

Key Responsibilities:
* Install and commission new compressed air and vacuum equipment to the required standard.
* Ensure all maintenance, service, and repairs are carried out to customers' satisfaction.
* Perform servicing, commissioning, and repair of compressed air and vacuum equipment on-site or in the workshop.
* Take appropriate spares to site to complete repairs on a first fix basis.
* Exceed customer expectations by delivering exceptional service.
* Identify faults or improvements in customers' compressed air systems to generate sales inquiries.
* Provide support to a 24-hour call-out scheme
On-call 1 week out of 6 [£95 additional for the week, then £35 per hour if called out].
* Execute all duties with a high level of competence and attention to detail in line with company expectations.
* Timely completion of company communications, whether written, verbal, or electronic.
* Attend training sessions to enhance skillset and perform job duties effectively.
* Advise customers on faults and recommend system improvements and cost savings.
* Contribute to the development and growth of Thorite's compressor, vacuum, and aftermarket business in the Yorkshire area.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
* Time-served electro/mechanical engineering apprenticeship.
* HNC in mechanical engineering [preferred].
* PLC awareness/functional understanding.
* Knowledge of rotating equipment, compressor, and vacuum plant maintenance [preferred].
* Previous experience in a field-based customer-facing role.
* PC literate with working knowledge of standard MS Office software, ERP, and CRM systems.
