Payroll Assistant
Description✓Our client, a highly respected public sector organisation based in Giffnock, require a Payroll Administrator on a temporary basis for 2 - 3 months
✓The salary for the role is £11.85 per day
✓Hours of work Monday to Friday 8.45am to 4.45pm, 35 hours per week.
✓Main purpose of role:
✓To assist the team leader in ensuring the timely input of all payroll data.
✓Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
✓To input and check data from timesheets/expenses claims/sickness reports to payroll system
✓Creation of four weekly spreadsheets and distributing to Departments
✓Exporting the four weekly spreadsheets from excel to the temporary data area of the current payroll system
✓Input and checking of masterfile data
✓To maintain and be responsible for the data sent for storage and scanning
✓Checking and amending all exception reports produced from all the payroll calculations
✓EDI import to iTrent of tax codes student loan start and stop notices
✓Completion of day-to-day forms
✓Responding to enquiries received from employees, departments and outside bodies
✓To calculate over/under payments
✓To process payments outwith normal payroll processing
✓To administer the recovery of overpayments made
✓Completion of superannuation forms
✓Distribution of payslips
✓Clear up procedures issuing P45's to employees, notification to departments of master file changes, filingKey Skills and Requirements:
✓Possess a good standard of general education
✓A Payroll qualification would be desirable
✓Experience of working in a busy office environment
✓Experience of dealing with high volume input
✓Experience of input to a computerised financial system
✓Experience of working in payroll
✓Working knowledge of Microsoft excel and word
✓Good keyboard skills
✓Excellent communication skills/professional telephone manner
✓Ability to multi-task
✓Flexible approach to work
✓Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
✓Good numerical skills and accuracy
✓Ability to meet deadlines
