Our Specialist SEN Branch are currently working in partnership with an Independent Specialist School based in Penarth. The school itself offers day and residential placements for students aged 7 – 19.  The students have difficulty learning as a result of their emotional, social and behavioural difficulties.  Autism Spectrum Disorders [ASD] and Asperger's Syndrome.
The School:
The school endeavour to help develop young people’s emotional wellbeing and social skills.  The aim is to develop students to be effective learners so they are able to cope better with the situations they find challenging.  To do this, the school focus on establishing positive and healthy relationships.  They are currently on the look out for a number additional Behaviour Support Officers to start on Yearly contracts from September onwards however, earlier starts will be considered

Having specific experience working with young people who display challenging behaviour and/or learning difficulties is beneficial but no always essential – some of the best Behaviour Support Officers have been those with limited experience but infectious personalities and willingness to make a difference!
The Successful Behaviour Support Officer will have:
A strong sense of humour
Ability to use your initiative in situations that may challenge. 
The ability to work well within a tight-knit team.
Be open to coaching and constructive feedback in order for you to develop your skills.
Have a background in either sports, psychology, mental health, support work, youth work and/or Additional Learning Needs.
