Job Title: QHSE, Training & Compliance Manager
Salary: Competitive with Company Car or Car Allowance
Working Hours:  Monday to Friday, however flexibility to meet the needs of the business is essential.
The role is shift working, including nights.
Location: South West – [London Waterloo to Exeter - Ideally situated in Surrey]

We’re looking for someone to be responsible for supporting and embedding delivery of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality best practice and compliance on a prestigious railway cleaning contract.
This role will work proactively with operational managers and their teams to establish and maintain safe systems of work and a safe working environment for colleagues and customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
Advise, support and guide management teams in keeping people, assets, and environment safe from harm by actively supporting the application and promotion of QHSE policies and standards.
Monitor effectiveness of the QHSE management systems and make recommendations to improve safety performance
 
Assist managers with monitoring and supervision of the performance off and implementation of safety controls in a variety of work environments.
Undertake site visits to monitor and identify opportunities for continued improvement and development.
Undertake audits and inspections of work areas and services.
Undertake and support the risk assessment management process, delivery training and review QHSE documentation.
Support & lead incident investigations, identifying corrective measures using root cause analysis technique
Conduct monthly QHSE Training and Compliance Audits.
Create develop and maintain associated documentation and reports.
Represent the organisation at client and third party QHSE meetings.
Liaise with the enforcing authorities and other agencies to provide information when requested and to promote positive relationships
Provide guidance and advise that is technically accurate and of a high standard.Make known to all relevant stakeholders any significant findings/recommendations and ensure lessons learnt/alerts are captured, developed, and communicated effectively throughout the contract.
Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant H&S standards, policies, procedures, and guidance to a level to guide and support colleagues in their effective implementation.
Identify, develop, and deliver suitable training solutions
These may include, competency assessments, briefings, safety briefings, toolbox talks, RAMS etc.
Ensure mandatory training is delivered.
Ensure Legal Compliance with all policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations.  
About you:
Influential and experienced safety practitioner who can develop effective relationships across all business levels and departments.
Experience in the Rail Industry would be preferrable, but not essential.
Strong understanding of risk management principles including safe systems of work and their undertaking.
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation.
A flexible approach to work, able to manage own priorities and workload.Self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal, coaching, leadership and communication skills. 
Qualifications Required:
Demonstrable practical experience in a Health and Safety role, ideally gained in FM / Transport services industry although not essential.
NEBOSH NGC as minimum
Consideration will be given to candidates with strong operational experience and a willingness to work towards this qualification within the first 6 months.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to learn new systems quickly.
Full Driver’s license that is UK valid. Please note, the successful candidate will be required to submit to mandatory Drug and Alcohol screening both at pre-employment stage and throughout employment.
