Facility Manager

DescriptionOn behalf of our client, a dynamic and fast-growing company providing research services to leading pharmaceutical companies, we are looking to recruit a Facility Manager to supervise a team of scientists and technical staff working on a range of Metabolism studies.
The successful candidate will have prior line management experience and be proficient in a range of regulated procedures, as they will be required to train staff and assist with studies
They will also oversee the scheduling, timelines, and reporting of projects and forecast revenue targets to Senior Management.
Basic Requirements:
* Several years of experience in Metabolism/Discovery PK in a CRO or Pharmaceutical company
* Line management experience is essential
* Highly proficient in a range of ASPA licensed procedures including dose administration and blood sampling
* Training and mentoring of staff
* Scientific data interpretation, reporting, and presentation skills
* Understanding of the drug development process
* Study costing and cost control skills and experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Operational supervision and line management of a group of scientists and technical staff
* Provide procedural training and mentoring on all licensed procedures to Animal Technology staff as required
* Ensure the smooth running of the animal unit, communicating closely with the Team Leader
* Conduct ASPA licensed procedures on a range of species to trainer level
* Ensure that the performance of the team is effectively managed with appraisals and objectives set in accordance with company policies
* Manage the allocation of staff, resources, and scheduling of the team to achieve revenue recognition milestones each month and produce targets forecast to Senior Management
* Review proposals and study plans prepared by others, ensuring all costs are included
* Mentor new and existing staff, overseeing their professional development
* Lead process improvements within the facility
* Address findings appropriate to area arising from QA audits and process inspections
* Provide a supportive role to all named persons such as NACWO, Project Licence Holder, NTCO, and NIO
* Lead client facility visits.
