Assistant Building Manager
Description✓Introduction
✓We are looking to appoint 6 Assistant Building Managers to join the Customer Experience & Service Delivery team
✓The postholders will report directly to the Building Managers and assist with the supervision of Service Delivery Coordinators.
✓This is a hands-on role, where you will be required to build on your supervisory ability to motivate, coach and develop the Service Delivery Co-ordinators.
✓You will also support the Building Manager on the day-to-day operational work and deputise in their absence.

✓The Team
✓The Service Delivery Teams provide customers with a range of services including reception services, Meeting and Committee Room management and support
✓Monitoring of cleaning and monitoring of photocopiers
✓We are the Evacuation controllers for Parliamentary buildings and provide first aid support
✓We provide AV support in meeting rooms
✓We escort visitors, as necessary, to ensure that they meet with their hosts and provide support for the business of the House
✓The Service Delivery team aim to deliver a comfortable, safe, and efficient environment for Members, their staff, and staff of the House to work in; as well as providing a welcoming and functional environment for all visitors to the House of Commons.
✓The Role
✓This newly formed pivotal role of Assistant Building Manager has created 6 opportunities to provide support to the Building Managers and assist with the supervision of Service Delivery Coordinators
✓These posts form the Teams that ensure the diverse range of buildings that form the House Commons element of the Parliamentary Estate are a comfortable, safe, and efficient environment for Members, their staff, and staff of the House to work in; as well as providing a welcoming and functional environment for all visitors to the House of Commons.
✓You will be providing the day-to-day management of the building, liaising with maintenance staff, plan and manage projects that impact on user of the Commons estate, and using a coaching approach to support your team to actively develop and maintain a thorough and up-to-date working knowledge of the House Services.
✓Skills and Experience
✓To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
✓Experience of organising and delivering service objectives in a customer facing environment and striving to improve the quality of service
✓Ability to create and maintain positive, professional, and trusting working relationships with a wide range of people within and outside the team to help get business done
✓Experience of investigating issues, identifying, or developing options and selecting solutions to problems which occur in the role
✓Ability to prioritise tasks and to respond to rapidly changing circumstances at short notice and demonstrate flexibility under pressure
✓Experience of effectively taking the lead and communicating with clarity, conviction, and enthusiasm; upholding the principals of equality, diversity and inclusion and an experienced user of Microsoft applications [Word, Excel, and Outlook]
