Art Gallery Manager, Luxury Retail

DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Luxury Retail Sales Manager to join this very exciting new contemporary Art Gallery venture in London!
You do not necessarily need to come from an Art background, but a passion/interest in art or luxury goods is a must, as well as a desire to learn quickly [you will receive training to assist you with this]
You will manage the gallery with a team of 2 Art Consultants, whilst driving sales on the gallery floor
Working to targets, you should have a proven track record in sales & have the ability to manage a CRM system, proactively calling clients to encourage new sales.
This gallery recently opened & is ideally located in a prime shopping destination with excellent footfall
They are opening a further 2 galleries in other London locations in the very near future.
Full flexibility to work weekends is required [but 5 day week].
Client experience is key in this role – delivering a warm welcome to everyone
Buying art shouldn’t be intimidating
Traditional galleries feel exclusive and online marketplaces feel overwhelming, leaving customers lost and discouraged
They want to help today’s young consumers fall in love with their first piece of original art.
Duties include:
● Empower a team of Art Consultants to meet and exceed monthly sales targets [individual and store]
● Play an active role in curating the store, ensuring that art selection is consistently aligned to gallery merchandising guidelines
● Develop strong knowledge of gallery brand and artwork selection, including key information about
the artists and the unique story behind each piece
● Interact closely with customers to understand where they are at in their art-buying journey & delight customers by identifying artworks that match their tastes and needs
● Process sales and / or direct customers to the website if the sale cannot be made in-store
● Prepare and wrap artwork for collection and / or shipping
● Keep sales records, customer records, and stock records up to date
● Accept and check deliveries, hang new artwork, and prepare accompanying merchandising materials
● Prepare for in-store events and interact with customers at these events
● Ensure that the store is kept clean and tidy to maintain the highest retail standards
● Experience with Shopify would be useful.
Basic salary: £30-35K plus c.£10K OTE commission.
