✓Akton Resourcing are currently working with a local authority to recruit an Accountant to join the Housing Services finance team on a 6-month contract
✓The role will support front-line teams in the Housing Revenue Account [HRA] as well as lead on setting rents and service charges for [Apply online only]
✓Candidates should have an understanding f Northgate/NEC as well as Power BI- this is to help transform the budget monitoring into a business-partner oriented approach that weaves together finance and performance information in a dashboard view.
✓Main Duties:
✓* Budget monitoring, ensuring that value is added throughout the process, including being able to explain the financials in simple terms, provide challenge, support development of mitigations ad being able to present information to senior colleagues.
✓* Financial modelling and appraisal
✓A number of mini projects will require robust financial analysis, therefore it is important that candidates have strong and proven financial modelling and analytical skills.
✓What we are looking for:
✓* Qualified individual with relevant experience.
✓* Verbal and written communication skills must be strong, must have the ability to communicate difficult messages confidently but with compassion and tact.
✓* Great attention to detail and experience of ensuring spends are compliant
✓* Experience of improving governance and translating procurement outcomes.
✓* Ideally, candidates should know how to create standard operating procedures and manage assets properly in the service/accounting area.
