Assistant Accountant

DescriptionBorder to Coast are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team based in Leeds.
Your main responsibility will be management of the accounts payable ledger, ensuring the timely and accurate input of data into our accounting system [Microsoft Dynamics], dealing with suppliers and internal colleagues, developing robust controls/processes and ensuring the timely notification of any issues
In addition, you will manage the daily treasury processes, accounts receivable ledger and assist the Finance Manager in the production of the monthly management accounts, payroll, VAT, forecasting and project work.
About You
We’d like our Assistant Accountant to have previous experience of working in a finance department, working with financial ledgers [specifically accounts payable], banking, processing invoices and preparing monthly journals for accruals, prepayments, and payroll
You’ll have strong communication, engagement and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge across all levels of the organisation and have high levels of integrity and trustworthiness.
With experience of working across business functions, managing budgets and cost control, you will have strong analytical capabilities, problem solving and decision-making skills and be able to manage to tight deadlines whilst ensuring quality of outputs
A recognised accountancy qualification is desirable, but not essential.
