Claims Handler - Tree Root Liability
Description✓Davies Group is a specialist professional services and technology firm working in partnership with leading insurance, highly regulated and global businesses
✓Our team of more than 5,500 professionals operate across the UK and Ireland, US, Bermuda and Canada.
✓This team is responsible for handling liability claims on behalf of various public sector and insurer clients
✓Your role will be to provide a quality, proactive, cradle-to-grave claims service on behalf of these clients and in accordance with the insurer’s claims handling philosophy.
✓Preferably you'll have experience in handling Tree Root liability claims along with experience of working in an insurance and or legal environment
✓Experience of a Recoveries role dealing with third part damage Recovery or knowledge of subsidence damage is also desirable.
✓It’s a busy and varied role, with a broad range of responsibilities, but the Fundamentals include:
✓· Establish if cover is in place for the claim
✓· Record all claims on the digital claims handling system
✓· Investigate all liability claims either from the desk or by instructing loss adjusters
✓· Consideration and analysis of damage and causation evidence
✓· Make the decision on liability
✓· Negotiate settlement of the claim
✓· Ensure compliance with all legal timescales and client SLAs
✓· Build relationships with external clients and stakeholders
✓· Provide referral support to less experienced colleagues
✓Skills & Experience:
✓· Experience of policy wording and terms and conditions
✓· Knowledge of insurance and the insurance market
✓· Knowledge of how to value a third-party property damage claim
✓· Knowledge of reserving philosophies
✓· Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules
✓· Good communications skills at all levels
✓· Excellent customer service
✓· The ability to work as part of a team
✓· Take responsibility for your own workload
✓· Must be able demonstrate adaptability and flexibility
✓· Good planning and organisational skills
✓· Strong IT skills
