Description✓University of Plymouth Student Union Finance Manager - Maternity Cover 9-12 months
✓£33,000 - £38,600 plus generous benefit package Hybrid working
✓Would consider a 4 day working pattern
✓UPSU is a not-for-profit, value led organisation which exists to represent the interests of the students studying with the University of Plymouth and support their wider student experience through extracurricular activity
✓We are seeking a Finance Manager to cover maternity leave for the permanent postholder.
✓Key responsibilities will be to manage the day-to-day finance function at UPSU and to ensure legal and statutory compliance and financial sustainability
✓Duties will include responsibility for the monthly management accounts and ensuring that fortnightly and monthly payrolls are produced within agreed deadlines
✓The successful candidate should be an experienced accountant and have experience of team management
✓Duties and Responsibilities:
✓Provide management and leadership to the finance team
✓Co-ordinate the production of monthly management accounts for both the charity and the trading company
✓Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts
✓Produce quarterly and year end VAT returns for the charity and trading company
✓Co-ordinate the annual budget setting process
✓Manage financial forecasting
✓Co-ordinate the external audit process
✓Ensure monthly and fortnightly payrolls are produced within agreed deadlines, manage the relationship with 3rd party payroll providers and ensure payroll transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system
✓Produce regular cashflow forecasting
✓Develop a finance business partnering function
✓Maintain the SOP's manual
✓Review and regularly test internal financial controls, processes and systems
✓Produce ad hoc analysis and reports when required
✓Carry out financial training when required
✓Assist with project work when required
✓Deputise for the Director of Finance & Resources when required
