✓This is an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Cost Accountant to be part of one of the North East’s highest profile manufacturing plants as we are expanding our operations at our battery manufacturing plant in Sunderland
✓We are looking to build our team in order to support current production as well as the development and operation of a world class and innovative mass manufacturing Gigafactory
✓This is a unique opportunity to join one of the most exciting, large scale industrial developments in many years, where new and emerging technologies will be adopted in support of the rapidly growing electric vehicle marketplace.
✓Responsibilities
✓Month-end and year-end accounting for the manufacturing costs within the P&L [parts, materials and scrap]
✓Generate monthly performance reports for these cost areas and present to functional management to support budget control and decision making
✓Analysis and reporting of inventory on a monthly basis, highlighting risks and opportunities to optimise cashflow
✓Provide back up to relevant balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
✓Preparation of Business Planning and Forecasting information
✓Carry out product costing for current and future production
✓Support compliance and control over financial transactions and reporting
✓Work closely with the wider local and group finance teams
✓

✓Background and experience required
✓
✓Experience of operating in a manufacturing environment is essential
✓Sound understanding of accounting fundamentals, and experience of managing and maintaining financial controls
✓Good written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to functional managers
✓Strong analytical and problem-solving techniques
✓Experience of using SAP in a manufacturing environment is preferred
✓Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and other PC applications.
✓Reporting to the site Senior Finance Manager, the successful candidate will have responsibility for a range of finance tasks for a rapidly expanding manufacturing business
✓Main duties will include accounting for inventory and product costs, as well as analysis and reporting on these costs to functional management within the business
✓The role will also have responsibility for costing at product level for both current and future production.
