✓My client a reputable and established professional membership is looking for a Membership Development Manager.
✓We are looking for a team player who can demonstrate excellent relevant membership acquisition experience along with excellent work ethic.
✓The Role of Membership Development Manager
✓Reporting to the to the Professional Development Director, this role will play an integral part in new membership acquisition, inhouse training & building partnerships, sponsorship, and stakeholder relationship management, and other sponsorship-related initiatives
✓They will be responsible for:
✓New membership acquisition: through a planned and targeted approach, acquire new members in line with targets.
✓Sourcing and acquiring new business from members and non-members, across the range of services, in line with targets [services including but not limited to events/conferences, training/courses, books/publications]
✓Conducting research to identify potential opportunities and competitor analysis, maintaining an up-to-date summary of key competitor activities - locations, products, pricing, and benefits.
✓Negotiating and confirming contracts as well as ensuring that all invoices are processed, and payments received prior to the delivery of benefits.
✓Maintaining records of potential and current members acquired and services contracted, with key contact details and financial information in accordance with GDPR requirements, and brief notes on relationship status.
✓Provide regular reports on members acquisition and business opportunities.
✓Perform other duties from time to time in line with the needs of the membership organisation
✓Qualifications and Skills
✓The successful candidate will need to proactively source new corporate and investor members and sponsors, whilst growing existing relationships and have:
✓A track record in business development in relevant sectors and/or related fields and demonstrating a knowledge of international practice and policy would be preferred, but not essential.
✓A solid track record of developing new business and account growth.
✓Experience of developing sales strategy and dealing with senior management
✓Good communication and people skills, with a creative approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
✓Experience of conducting successful negotiations, working globally / across cultures
✓A minimum of 5 years of business development and sales experience, ideally within the events and/or association membership space
