✓Job Purpose:
✓Provide information and support to parents, schools, and Local Authority officers regarding Elective Home Education matters, as well as liaising with a wide range of professionals and members of the public.
✓Role Responsibilities:
✓Providing administrative support to the Elective Home Education team, including maintaining and using spreadsheets and databases.
✓Maintaining up to date working knowledge of DfE Elective Home Education guidance and gaining an understanding of the breadth of Elective Home Education.
✓Responding to e-mail and telephone queries in a timely and professional manner, giving information and asking appropriate questions
✓Refer complex queries to the EHE Coordinator.
✓Processing and monitoring incoming cases including safeguarding record checks and issuing correspondence.
✓Preparing, monitoring and communicating a range of statistical data for regular and ad hoc requests, collaborating with colleagues where relevant.Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
✓Essential
✓Qualifications in English and Maths equivalent to GCSE passes at A - C grade.
✓Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages particularly Outlook, Word, Excel.
✓Ability to work effectively as an integral part of a small hard-working team.
✓Ability to work in a pro-active and solution focused way.
✓Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
✓The ability to work in a pressurised environment whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy
✓The ability to work on own initiative with limited supervision, prioritising and workload to meet statutory and internal targets.
✓The ability to deal empathetically with difficult and challenging telephone enquiries.
✓Ability to process information appropriately and comply with GDPR legislation and County policies.
✓Ability to participate in self-development opportunities.
✓Ability to use a large and complex database and document storage software.Desirable
✓Typing, word processing or other administrative qualifications or equivalent.
✓Database experience and qualifications [e.g
✓CLAIT/EDCL level].
✓Knowledge of education via schools and elective home education.
✓Experience of working in the education or local government environment.
✓Knowledge of the role and function of Inclusion Support Service.
