Description✓Our client is seeking an experienced Buyer
✓This role is offered as a permanent full-time position.
✓Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 pa
✓Location: Near Dartford
✓Hours: 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
✓Benefits include: 25 days annual leave, pension, free parking
✓The purpose of the role is to source and negotiate with new/lapsed suppliers the procurement of electronic components
✓Priority will be given to candidates with electronic industry knowledge.
✓BUYER EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
✓* A good standard of secondary education preferably to A’ Level
✓[CIPS membership an advantage].
✓* Thorough understanding of computerised manufacturing systems [ERP, MPS].
✓* Modern supply methods including JIT and KANBAN
✓* At least 6 months experience in a similar role [manufacturing experience an advantage e.g
✓electronics].
✓* Ability to communicate at all levels.
✓* Strong negotiation skills.
✓* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
✓* Computer literate including Word, Excel, PDF Writer.
✓* Cost reduction techniques
✓* Component recognition skills.
✓* Accurate and attention to detail driven approach.
✓* Hands On approach to all tasks.
✓BUYER MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
✓* Completion of daily MRP output.
✓* Develop long term supply relationships with key vendors employing Supply Chain Management techniques to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of all materials.
✓* Ensure that deliveries are consolidated where appropriate to maximise use of each delivery vehicle.
✓* Understand and utilise the electronic supply chain [direct and distribution].
✓* Processing purchase order acknowledgements and advise relevant personnel when problems arise.
✓* Run various reports to define weekly exceptions i.e
✓late order and open order reports.
✓* Implement Vendor Master Data-cleanse.
✓* Assisting other members of the department with procurement as and when required.
