CAD/PLM Administrator

DescriptionOur client based in London is looking for CAD/PLM Administrator who is responsible for managing the company Product Lifecycle Management [PLM] toolset, working to problem solve issues while maintaining data integrity
They will also be comfortable defining and delivering training to the system users
This role relies on effective workload prioritisation, collaboration within a configuration management team as well as proactive engagement with the user community
As a CAD/PLM Administrator, you will be in a technical, hands-on role that will evaluate CAD functionality including user interface, troubleshoot software use issues, and provide technical support and training to users
This position will directly impact the development and certification of our first product launch and will impact how inflight connectivity is developed for future generation
Technical Responsibilities:
* Support CAD and PLM development and training process and engage team members quickly.
* Use your creativity to build and deliver CAD and PLM training content in engaging and modern ways.
* Enable workflow efficiency through CAD and PLM Best Practices and Standards.
* Engage with vendors and ARAS to develop new features and create and provide relevant CAD and PLM training content.
* Interact with team members to understand and capture needs for continuous improvements in CAD and PLM training.
* Develop and provide enterprise level technical support to the CAD and PLM user base.
* Coordinate, create, and maintain CAD/PLM Knowledge base content and Generate KPI reports for configuration items to present at the progress/management review meetings.
* Support the integration of the company PLM system with the ERP system during the roll out of SAP.
* Work to become the company database expert alongside the IT team to manage requests for data management in the business [Salesforce, SAP Business One, Mongo DB, Altium [Firebird DB].
* Perform configurations, preventative/reactive maintenance and administration of Atlassian products e.g., JIRA, Confluence and Bitbucket.
* Devise complex, customised JIRA workflows in collaboration with stakeholders and Respond according to JIRA maintenance issues and run troubleshooting procedure
Organisational Responsibilities::
* Work closely with the Configuration Manager and design teams to ensure that PLM processes are followed and that data is accurate and Communicate regularly with the Configuration Manager and other stakeholders to ensure that they are aware of any issues or concerns with the PLM system.
* Ensure that PLM-related documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
* Work with the IT department to implement the security protocols as per the company IT policies and IT departments to ensure that the server and data is backed up such that data recovery can take place in the event of any catastrophic events.
* Ensure team compliance to all IT security, policy and governance standards in line with ISO:27001 standards
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential :
* Bachelor’s or associate Degree in a relevant field with a minimum experience of three years in a similar and recent CAD/PDM Administrator job capacity.
* Experience using 3D solid modelling software.
* A minimum of five years’ experience using a PLM application.
* Demonstrated experience providing CAD/PLM training.
* Ability to work independently and on a team.
* Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills for technical teams.
* Experience with integrating PLM and ERP systems, preferably SAP Business One
* Demonstrable background as a JIRA Administrato
Desirable:
* A minimum of three years experience using Aras Innovator PLM system [or similar PLM toolset]
* A minimum of 3 years experience using Solidworks.
* Familiar with Solidworks extensions and modules and Knowledge of designing/drafting for aerospace, automotive, marine or applicable structures, mechanical systems, fluid system or electrical systems.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work.
* Experience in maintaining servers and SQL databases
* An understanding of IT security implications and data protection/back up protocols.
* Experience with the administration of Salesforce and Experience working with Linux operating systems and the use and administration of Jira project management software
