About the role
JFD is looking to recruit a Commercial Officer  to join us at our office at Inchinnan or Westhill
As Commercial Officer, you will support the commercial and contractual functions for JFD customer held contractual relationships, UK and Globally
Support commences during the bid process, in conjunction with the bids team, and progresses onto the contractual and relationship management [support to products and services] to the end of all contractual commitments.  The main purpose of the role is to provide commercial and contractual support, drive consistency and control, manage commercial risk and ensure best practice and robust governance.            
As a Commercial Officer, you will be responsible for the following:
Providing commercial support to the bids team on some strategic bids.
After contract award, undertaking commercial execution.
Providing management of the contract and commercial support to the project team.
Providing support in relation to the commercial risk.
Supporting any commercial financial commitments and reporting.
Providing advice and support in relation to major 3rd party contracts.
Supporting specific commercial activities relating to products or services, i.e., warranty, bonds, offset, etc.
Supporting on claims and liquidated damages.
Ensuring contract close out.What do you need?
 We are looking for individuals with a background in commercial, contractual, legal or similar experience to understand and manage complex contracts and deliverables
Experience or awareness of commercial risk identification, mitigation and close out would be useful
Knowledge of working within business governance arrangements, internal and external relationship management and negotiating and influencing is also desirable
You must have excellent communication skills and be able to work on your own initiative in a fast-moving environment.
Whilst, it’s not essential, it is highly desirable that you are experience in working in one of the following areas - products and services environment within marine, subsea, defence/ government, oil & gas or manufacturing
It would also be beneficial if you have experience of working across multiple contracts across global markets.  This is an opportunity to join our commercial team in a dynamic, innovative, and exciting environment working across different products and service, UK and globally within a dedicated and supportive team.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to hold UK Security Clearance.
