An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Logistics Administrator to join a family run business currently in Newent however due to expansion, are now due to move into a purpose-built facility in Ledbury in approximately 3-6 months.

We import and export products to, and from, all over the world and this is an exciting time to join the team as our customer and supplier base expands.
Job Role:
You will be responsible for supporting the entire logistics activity within the company for goods movement from end to end both in the UK and Internationally.
Alongside the logistics team working to strict deadlines and being able to plan ahead the collections and deliveries of groupage, part and full load consignments utilising road, sea and air modes of transport on a global basis.
Operating our current in-house software system and develop a working knowledge of our current 3PL warehousing service provider’s systems.
You will be involved in raising purchase orders with suppliers, preparing all required shipment paperwork including packing lists, import & export documentation, and commercial invoices where necessary.
You will be involved in negotiating and arranging booking times with our shipping partners and coldstores, whilst keeping a strong professional relationship with them to ensure we get the best service during difficult times.
You will be responsible for receipting all stock that has been transported by the logistics team into the relevant coldstores efficiently.
You will support the Logistics Manager & Co-Ordinator with training and creating the departments standard operating procedures to comply with, and set, a high standard of training practices within your department to assist with future growth of the logistics team.
You will help to make sure the container and European logistics spreadsheets are up to date by chasing suppliers, reviewing the track- trace system for shipping information and updating it daily.
General office administration tasks, answering the telephone and holiday cover across customer service departments will be required.
Experience/Skills required
A minimum of 1 year’s office administration experience required, it would be advantageous to have logistics experience, but full training will be given.
Excellent Communication skills [Verbal & written]
Competent in the use of Excel and Word
A confident personality with a ‘can-do’ attitude
A professional, positive, and helpful attitude to work colleagues, suppliers and especially customers.
Strong organisational skills with an excellent memory.
Presentable, energetic, and enthusiastic.
