Job Description
MPI is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Material Coordinator on a 6 month contract in York
The ideal candidate will have a background in inventory control, supply chain management, or inventory management
This position is responsible for the maintenance and replenishment of a large railway companies inventory
The job will be performed in a fast-paced environment, and will require the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the replenishment of inventory
* Prepare and maintain stock control documentation
* Prepare and maintain inventory reports for the internal operations team
* Assist with inventory reconciliation for the internal operations team
* Assist with ordering of supplies for the internal operations team
* Manage the delivery of the supplies to other locations within the company [i.e., warehouse deliveries]
* Manage the transfer of the supplies from one department to another as needed
* Assist with inventory reconciliation for other locations within the company [i.e., warehouse reconciliation]
* Other duties as assigned
Work Description:
Undertake materials interface role working with Project Engineering, Project Management and procurement functions to ensure that materials are correctly specified on the correct systems and procured to meet the timescales of the project
Input and creation of items/materials into systems such as SAP, GSI, and Orchestra.
Specialist Skills:
* Understanding of materials specification and procurement processes
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
* Good communication skills
* Engineering or technical background preferable.
* Previous experience in materials/procurement preferable.
* Previous experience in using SAP and GSI
