Contract: 40 hours Monday-Friday 09.00am – 17.30pm.
We are a national manufacturing company with an exciting opportunity for a Sales / Marketing Assistant to join our team!
Sales / Marketing Assistant – The Role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Sales & Marketing Assistant to undertake administration and other office duties that supports the sales team in achieving the business sales targets
As well as support in the development of marketing of the various brands, by undertaking the company’s marketing plan.
You will need excellent clerical and keyboard skills and a keen sense of customer service
A good standard of education is essential for the role and the ability to cope with the pressure of deadlines and making decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales
• Send out literature on the company, and products for new enquires
• Price change admin e.g., new products, promotions
• Check invoice prices particularly over promotion periods
• Arrange samples for prospective and new customers
• Help completely new line and other customer forms [New Supplier and Promotion forms, CPIs]
• Deal with day-to-day queries regarding orders, deliveries and stock issues
• Communicate with suppliers so that they are well-informed on various aspects of the business
• After training become conversant with supermarket supplier websites/portals so that relevant forms can be completed and submitted
• To produce sales orientated reports from the data and comment on trends.
• Participate in the preparation in product management plans.
• Maintaining and circulating promotion plans to advise internal staff
• Prepare and administer product launch plans
• Prepare and administer account profitability plans
• Create and distribute internally, actual sales figures, projects and forecasts of future
• Generate sales reports from SAGE to identify trends
• Contact potential customers
• Answering switch board and directing queries to the right departments
• Support with production planning
• In store merchandising as and when required
• Attend customer meetings when required
Marketing
• Research market trends, demographics, pricing strategies, and other relevant information that helps managers and directors develop marketing plans
• Analyse surveys, polls, and other market research to look for patterns and trends
• Delivers reports on research findings through written documents and verbal presentations
• Assists in creating promotional materials, including brochures, blogs, marketing copy, etc.
• Provides fact-checking, copy-editing, and formatting assistance during the creation of mailers, coupons, website content, and other promotional materials
• Helps maintain social media accounts for brands, products, or services
• Enters marketing data into spreadsheets and helps to create data and financial reports for managers and directors
• Organises and plans the production of all major marketing materials by working closely with printers and other involved parties
• Ensure all channels are updated and current including Google, website and social media platforms
• Helps to plan and deliver promotional events hosted by the company
• Assist with the planning of exhibitions with the Events and Marketing Manager
Essential
• Relevant degree or at least 3 years sales and marketing experience
• Knowledge of business social media accounts
• Adept with Canva for content creation
Requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• A high level of proof-reading accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to manage a varying workload
• Strong initiative, drive and a flair for creativity and innovation
• Ability to manage the social media accounts and generate ideas
• The ability to establish a desk-based relationship with key buyers and support staff;
• Good general administration and organisational skills
• A positive team player with the ability to think and act on own initiative in an integrated sales and marketing environment
• Good time management
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to deal with people at all levels
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Dealing with the top supermarkets and wholesale would be an advantage
• Previous food manufacturing experience would be an advantage
