Agricultural Compliance Officer

DescriptionOur client is a leading Farm to Fork food producer who are looking for an Agricultural Compliance officer to support the Agricultural Team with managing the UK agricultural supply - chain, working with owned and third - party farming businesses to ensure compliance to business and customer standards.
Responsibilities
* To work with Certification Bodies and producers to ensure that all retailer aligned farms are certified to the correct standards.
* To oversee the management of customer compliance databases and farm certification processes.
* To work with factory technical teams in customer factory audits to provide evidence that the business is compliant to customer standards.
* To be the point of contact for all customer agricultural compliance related queries.
* To work with the livestock team to schedule and organise retailer farm audits with internal farming businesses and third-party producers.
* To be the company's representative on retailer farm audits, working with the auditor and producers to explain retailer farm standard and audit process.
* To understand and support producers on any observations or non-conformances raised on audits, working with producers to close out and provide the necessary corrective action evidence in the allocated time frame.
* To work cohesively with the producer base to help protect industry and brand integrity and offer advice/guidance to improve standards where necessary; with the overall aim of driving continuous improvement in on farm compliance and health & welfare.
* To develop and maintain partnerships with UK producers through monitoring of animal welfare standards on farm and trending data captured through abattoir outcomes back to producers.
* To ensure effective communication of best practice and customer specified animal welfare standards to the Group’s pig producer base.
* To work alongside the Technical Departments in responding to farm animal welfare queries from customers.
* To ensure that you have a clear understanding of current legislation within the agricultural industry and are aware of future changes to legislation.
Experience and Skills
* Suitably qualified, ideally with a degree in Food, Science or Agriculture.
* A minimum of two years’ experience in the Food or Agriculture sector.
* Must be an effective communicator, with excellent people skills and be team orientated at all levels.
* Experience of working with retailers would be a bonus.
* Full training and personal development will be given.
