Horticultural Parts & Machinery Salesperson

DescriptionContract Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of a long established family firm for an experienced Domestic Horticultural Parts & Machinery Salesperson
My client is a family-owned firm that supplies a wide range of machinery; from garden mowers and chainsaws to combine harvesters and construction excavators as well as selling a huge selection of clothing, footwear, garden sundries and DIY products across 19 country stores.
Role Purpose:
Reporting to the Parts & Retail Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day horticultural sales within the showroom which will include the sale of parts and machinery
Your role will be to ensure delivery of excellent customer service at all times by dealing with all queries relating to the domestic horticultural products and services supplied by the Company either face to face or over the telephone.
Essential Skills/Experience:
v  Good knowledge of Horticultural equipment and parts is advantageous
v  Proven sales or retail experience [desirable]
v  Excellent people skills and enjoy working with the general public
v  Enjoy working in a busy atmosphere and can cope under pressure during busy periods
v  Good communication skills: face to face, letter, email and telephone
v  Familiarity of working in a retail environment and showroom experience [desirable]
v  General computer skills and familiarity with email and internet use
v  Supporting internal workshop technicians with parts identification
v  Goods receiving and distribution of orders
v  Good numeracy and literacy skills
v  Full driving licence
v  Motivated by sales and targets
v  Attention to detail and accuracy with numbers, handling of cash, cheque and card payments
v  A team player-capable of working alone or with other team staff
v  Able to use own initiative
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
START DATE:
Immediate, but subject to successful candidates notice period
HOURS:
39hrs per week basic – 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm Friday.
Every other Saturday 8am to 12pm, Overtime paid at time and a half on completion of 39hrs Monday to Friday
SALARY:
£Competitive, depending on experience
