About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lecturer to work within the Animal Care department at Dearne Valley College
We are looking for an engaging individual who are also able to teach across all levels [L1-L5] of the Animal Care provision.
The role of lecturer is to equip our students with skills for their future through the delivery of outstanding education and training and inspire students to achieve their potential
This role offers you the opportunity to do this every day

The key roles of a Lecturer are to deliver excellent teaching each year, completing the relevant preparation and marking that supports this, and to set SMART targets to enable students to reach their potential.
You will…
hold a relevant qualification at level 3 or above in Animal Care and for our higher education learning programmes you should hold a degree
You must hold a relevant teaching qualification, or be willing to work towards
You will have the ability to deliver a quality teaching, learning and assessment experiences across a range of levels in Further Education
You will need to be passionate and engaging with the ability to bring the subject matter to life and make it a positive experience with a wide variety of learners.

The Animal Care Curriculum Area opened in September 2020 and offers courses from Level 1 to Level 6 in Animal Care and Animal Management
With a wide variety of animals housed in our modern facilities, now is a very exciting time to join our team!
Your line manager will be the Curriculum Director and/or Curriculum Manager.  You will regularly report on your objectives to update your Programme Leader / Curriculum Leader regarding a range of KPI’s including [but not limited to] student recruitment, retention, anticipated achievement, attendance and punctuality.
