Design & Specification Manager
Description✓Lead the design and specification of planting schemes for state-of-the-art office spaces to win new business
✓To clearly understand a client's brief [with help from the Sales Manager] and bring that to reality, including variables like aesthetics, costs, and service levels, whilst balancing the horticultural requirements of plants with the aesthetic desires of the client.
✓To attend client meetings with Sales Manager to discuss the project in detail and understand the client's brief, provide a consultation service and obtain crucial information required for design purposes
✓Responsibility for creating bespoke proposals by specifying internal/external plants, living walls, trees, plant pots and producing mood boards to match the client's brief
✓Reviewing floorplans and joinery/architectural drawings to obtain accurate measurements to support your specification of planting
✓To conduct proposal review meetings with clients and tweak specifications as required, involving supporting the Design Coordinator with costings and estimations
✓Liaison with the install and service teams conducting a detailed handover to ensure a clear picture of client's desired outcomes
✓To clearly communicate with other departments to ensure the final specification has been reviewed to ensure deliverables matches the client's expectations
✓To attend internal team meetings to decide the best strategy for securing projects, including sharing innovative ideas and support the growth of the business
✓Support sales managers with tenders for larger projects and attend strategy meetings
✓For experienced Design & Specification Managers there will be a requirement to provide design expertise for consultancy servicesThis role is located in Henham, however remote hybrid working is an option
✓Requirements
✓An eye for design
✓A willingness to learn all things horticultural [prior knowledge is a bonus but not essential]
✓A positive, proactive attitude that will fit into a fast-paced, high energy team
✓Ability to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing specifications for clients
✓Commercial and financial acumen with great communication skills
✓Photoshop/Design skills a bonus but not essential
✓Well Accredited Professional or BREEAM awareness is desirable
✓This would suit an individual from a specification sales, design or projects background with a creative edge looking to satisfy their passion for design.
✓Experience of design work in the fit-out industry and/or horticulture is a bonus.
