✓Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Design Manager on behalf of one of our clients.
✓Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
✓Duties and Responsibilities:
✓Report to the Lifecycle Programme Manager and provide technical support to the wider AMP team.
✓Manage a portfolio of projects from inception [RIBA 0] to start of Delivery [RIBA 5].
✓Balance technical input, programme requirements, and project commercial objectives.
✓Collaborate with AMP managers and stakeholders to define project scope, funding routes, and approach.
✓Select and implement appropriate design strategies, including managing design consultants and D&B contractors.
✓Ensure compliance with JSPs, building regulations, and fire standards in the defence environment.
✓Implement sustainability improvement projects in the built environment.
✓Demonstrate knowledge and experience of PFI/PPP and two-stage tendering.
✓Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and possess excellent IT and organisational skills.
✓Work collaboratively as part of a team and provide guidance and influence when necessary.
✓Skills and Qualifications:
✓Degree/HND/HNC in Building, Engineering, or Architecture.
✓Professional qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or Project Management [desirable].
✓Extensive design management experience on complex multi-funded projects.
✓Current working knowledge of JSPs, building regulations, and fire standards in the defence environment.
✓Experience in implementing sustainability improvement projects in the built environment.
✓Exposure to PFI/PPP and two-stage tendering.
✓Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
✓Excellent IT and organisational skills.
✓Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and provide guidance and influence.
