Designer
Description✓Designer required to join a well-established design practise in Hertford
✓The company work on a range of innovative and creative design solutions for a range of projects within the hospitality, commercial and leisure industries
✓Due to continuous growth and exciting projects lined up for the future, they require an experienced Designer to join their team.
✓The successful applicant will have a good background working on interior design projects including FF&E and have strong proficiency in AutoCAD
✓Our client is keen for their next employee to be an imaginative designer who can integrate their ideas into their portfolio of upcoming and current projects
✓Knowledge on finishes and specifications, experience in hotel design, space planning and practical cost/technical aspects of construction are key.
✓Designer Position Overview
✓Involvement in selection of products and suppliers.
✓Involvement in creating colour schemes and also assisting Design Director with routine tasks during preparation of presentation formats - i.e.: scanning, mounting images, organising and preparing fabric finishes, sticking down boards, colour rendering etc.
✓Creating & formalising purchasing manuals to include all relevant information, with illustration and including rub tests, FR status, pattern repeats, dimensions, industry standards etc.
✓Attending meetings when required.
✓General project administration as required.
✓Taking part in rep
✓meetings.
✓Assisting Project Directors in snagging completed works and issuing snag lists.
✓Developing sketch proposals and sketch visuals.
✓Producing CAD layout drawings, elevations and detail drawings.
✓Carrying out site surveys where applicable.
✓Working closely with our Design Director and the controlling project manager.Designer Position Requirements
✓Relevant qualification relating to design / architecture
✓Around 5 years' experience in a similar Design role - ideally working within the Commercial sector
✓FF&E experience
✓AutoCAD proficiency is essential
✓Experience within the Commercial Sector is Essential
✓Experience within the Hospitality sector is Advantageous
✓A background working on interior projects
✓Ideally a portfolio which can display your creativity and design flair
