✓Location: Molesey
✓Salary: £32-40,000 per annum
✓Duration: 6 month FTC with a view to go permanent
✓Hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 5:30pm
✓Summary of an Interior Designer
✓To support and assist the Interiors Team [primarily Technical] in producing interiors schemes across a variety of different projects: from speculatively built projects to bespoke client builds
✓You will manage the bespoke clients in order to receive their interior design choices needed to complete the construction of their homes.
✓Key Responsibilities of an Interior Designer
✓• Managing and advising clients on their interiors according to the build program and their budget allowances.
✓• Likewise for the speculative sites: producing schemes, costing them to budget and achieving sign-off in a timely manner.
✓• Take client design briefs and feed these to the various departments: e.g
✓layouts for lighting and electrical drawings, bathroom designs, kitchens and fitted furniture and finishes’ preferences.
✓• Produce design presentations and mood boards of each element of the interior design, such as the interior architecture, bathrooms, tiles and stone, fitted furniture, etc.
✓• To be able to produce designs, mostly in CAD; of general layouts, kitchens, fitted furniture, etc
✓for the purposes of tendering, presentations and/or information to relevant parties.
✓• To source samples and create sample boards.
✓• To liaise on site, often co-ordinating multiple suppliers and contractors.
✓• To communicate between the clients, their representatives and our own in-house teams, recording and documenting conversations, meetings and choices.
✓• Produce, circulate and manage all the necessary documents issued by the Interiors department: specifications and schedules, as well as the drawings.
✓• This includes the creation, issuing and updating of the Design Specification – the document that specifies every finish throughout the property room-by-room
✓Management of this according to purchasers’ choices of any allowed options from the sales team on the speculatively built sites.
✓• Management of the department library: supplier’s literature and samples
✓Keeping it up-to-date and researching/introducing new and innovative suppliers and products of relevance.
✓Key Competencies of an Interior Designer
✓• Relevant qualification in design, preferably BA [Hons] Interior Design
✓• Experience within the design and/or construction industry
✓Sales experience also beneficial.
✓• Ability to use AutoCAD competently.
✓• Other necessary computer skills: PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop, as well as the expected Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
✓3D CAD skills, such as Sketchup, beneficial.
✓• General presentation / sales skills – ability to produce presentations visually, present costs.
✓• Must be highly organised, motivated and enthusiastic.
✓• Exceptional communication skills; via email, telephone and face-to-face.
✓• Ability to work alone and within a team.
