Junior Design Engineer - Student Placement
Description✓An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Artwork Production Specialist, to join our client, a leading global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil & Simple based at the Research and Development site in Port Sunlight.
✓This is a temporary role for 12 months or when you need to return to your study/ working a 37.5 hour week, to start ASAP.
✓This placement will be within the Global Beauty and Wellbeing Packaging Design Team, and you will have the opportunity to work on well-known brands such as Dove, TRESemme, and Vaseline.
✓We're looking for creative problem solvers who are confident using complex CAD software, with a strong understanding of design methodologies and the design engineering process; training will be provided to the successful candidate.
✓Key Responsibilities:
✓- Working collaboratively as part of a global design team, and with other business functions, including consumer research, sustainability, marketing, supply chain and patenting
✓- Support the Design Team in concept generation execution through CAD modelling, rapid prototyping and testing
✓- Optimise designs for supply chain and design for manufacture
✓- Use critical thinking to solve technical design problems
✓- Effective communication of ideas on paper, digitally and verbally
✓- Utilisation of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud and industry-leading render packages to visualise and communicate ideas
✓- Engage in the clients design process and the associated roles, responsibilities, tools and processes.
✓Requirements:
✓- Studying a design related course [Product/Industrial Design, Product Design Engineering, Engineering, etc.]
✓- Confident in the use of CAD [Siemens NX is utilised in the team]
✓- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques
✓- Understanding of design methodologies and the design engineering process
✓- Ability to communicate an idea or concept effectively
✓- Strong prototyping skills
✓- Knowledge and understanding of the importance of product requirements, FMEA's and FEA/DFM
✓- Self-motivated with good verbal and written communication skills
