About the Role 
Lotus is recruiting for an experienced Interior Engineer to join our Quality Department based at our prestigious manufacturing site in Hethel.
This role will be instrumental in overseeing Cabin, Cockpit, Seating and Safety Restraints commodities, owning and driving quality activities on new Lotus product development.
As subject matter expert, you will help to ensure all new products and systems are robustly designed and validated using recognised engineering quality tools & techniques.
Working within a passionate and driven New Model Quality team, you will gain exposure throughout the whole lifecycle of product development, allowing the opportunity to define and improve the way we work,
Key responsibilities include:
Capture lessons learned within the Engineering Commodity to feed into project level events
Drive Failure Mode Avoidance activities [Quality History, Design & Process FMEA] within BICEPS commodity
Ensure robustness of Engineering Commodity Design Verification Plan
Understand new vehicle system functionality and test / validation requirements
Conduct virtual and physical fresh eyes / campaign prevention reviews
Ensure Engineering data, drawings and specifications are robust and will deliver a Quality product
Concern management and Progression
Lead problem resolution and root cause activity using 8D / Six Sigma Methodologies
Develop and maintain Vehicle Quality Standards and input into Part Quality Standards and Inspection processes
Ensure Vehicle validation processes are aligned with new vehicle content & technology
Ensure inspection standards and process generation for products and part quality is completed to a high level
Development of Project Robustness Assessment
Quality attributes and reliability target definition & achievement
Vehicle reliability evaluations with technical and diagnosis input
Supplier Quality & Engineering in delivery fully approved of new products
 
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
Interior Trim experience of automotive systems/parts either as OEM or Tier 1 supplier
Practical experience of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and problem-solving techniques
Must be able to demonstrate application of engineering quality tools & techniques
Experience of vehicle design and development processes
Appreciation of automotive engineering quality tools within vehicle programmes
Analytical, structured, confident, with good communication skills
Must be able to work alone and as part of a small team
