DescriptionWe are currently recruiting for a permanent Chef to join our client's kitchen team
Our client runs a gastropub Located in the heart of Hackney, Stoke Newington - London.
The Chef will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the kitchen operations, including food preparation, recipe development, staff training and management, inventory management, and kitchen equipment maintenance.
The successful candidate will have a passion for creating delicious dishes, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and have a proven track record of supporting and developing high-performing kitchen teams.
Salary & Working Hours:
* Salary: £27,291 - £28,567
* Contractual Working hours: 42-48 hours per week
* Shift Patterns: Mon-Sun | Shifts on a rota.
Kitchen's Operating Hours:
* Monday - Friday: 5 pm – 9:30 pm
* Saturday: 12 pm – 9:30 pm
* Sunday: 12 pm – 7:30 pm
Key Responsibilities:
* Help in the preparation and design of all food menus Produce high-quality plates both design and taste-wise.
* train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance.
* Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards.
* Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers.
* Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work.
* Positive and approachable manner.
* Team player qualities.
Essential Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Chef or chef de partie in a high-volume restaurant environment
* Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of international and regional cuisines
* Experience in food preparation and recipe development
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff and customers
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
* A degree or diploma in culinary arts or a related field is preferred, but not required
