If this sounds of interest, Moxie is partnering with a womens-led charity in the Vale of Glamorgan to recruit a specialist Domestic Violence Support Worker [IDVA] who will form part of an exciting new service, funded by the Police and Crime Commissioners in South Wales and Gwent.
What's on offer?
Salary: £24,054 - £27,344 [dependent on your qualifications & experience]
Hours: 35 per week
Location: Hybrid - Across the Vale of Glamorgan & Gwent regions [expenses paid at 45p per mile]
Annual leave: 25 days + 8 days bank holiday [33 days]

What's particularly exciting about this unique role is that you'll be helping to shape and roll out a service that is the first of its kind in Wales - a service that could eventually be delivered across the country
The aim of this unique service is to provide a trauma informed, strengths based, and needs led approach to meeting the needs of adults, children and young people who have experienced police perpetrated Violence Against Women Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence [VAWDASV].

About this Domestic Violence Support Worker role:
Use a variety of techniques to engage with the victim/survivor, ensuring every avenue is explored
Work in partnership with other agencies, including participation at the MARAC and to contribute to the design of interventions and plans which protect survivors.
Engage with communities, professionals across the regions to ensure the project and referral pathway is promoted and understood.
Build professional, trauma informed relationships with victim-survivors of police perpetrated domestic abuse to support them to overcome their experiences, ensuring their voice is heard
Establish the risks to and the needs of victim-survivors of police perpetrated domestic abuse and ensure a Co-produced Individual Safety and Support Plan is in place and is regularly reviewed to meet the needs of the victim-survivor
Domestic Violence Support Worker - Role Requirement:
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is IDVA trained or who has 2+ years' experience delivering specialist support to survivors of abuse/violence and is prepared to undertake the IDVA training.
An understanding of the police force, police processes and complaints procedures [Experience working on a Police and Crime Commissioner funded contract would be advantageous]
This role might be well suited for a former police officer, who has a strong understand around how to support survivors of VAWDASV.
Experience of promoting/marketing services to local partners and communities, or the skills needed to undertake this responsibility
A full driving licence with access to a vehicle is essential
