Governance Inclusion Lead

Mencap are recruiting for a Governanace Inclusion Lead to work with Mencap’s Director of Governance to support the work of the Voices Council and our trustees with a learning disability. This is a full time [37.5 hours per week] permanent role. Whilst this post is office based – we know that work is something you do not just a place you go.  At Mencap we give office-based colleagues and teams more flexibility about where the work is done.
Regular travel is required to our London office, there may also be local meetings with the teams and people you support when required. 
What will you be doing day to day?
You will be organised and be able to manage agendas

You will be able to champion our team who have a learning disability to manage their own workload so they can fulfil their own role

You will be responsible for travel arrangements

You will be able to support others to share their thoughts and experiences
We have two teams who you will be supporting in this role, The Voices Council and Mencap Trustees

Do you have the following skills to be successful as a Governance Inclusion Lead?
You will be able to work in a flexible and organised way

You will be able to motivate and inspire the teams you work with

You will have knowledge of charity governance 

You will have experience in supporting people with a learning disabilty or SEN
