✓Location: Bromley by Bow Centre, London
✓Contract: Full time, Fixed Term Contract
✓Salary: £28,000
✓The HKBNO ESOL tutor will support the GLA’s Hong Kong BNO project to deliver a tried and tested successful model to engage with the community to deliver a highly creative and effective community engagement programme at the Bromley by Bow Centre that delivers improvements to local understanding of Hong Kong diaspora.
✓Key to this role will be delivering against three strands:
✓• Strand 1: Orientation seminars
✓• Strand 2: Social activities
✓• Strand 3: Skills development
✓Through these strands, the aim of the programme is to fulfil the following:
✓• Improve local understanding of Hong Kong diaspora
✓• Facilitate local welcome and integration activities
✓• Enable Hongkongers to access council and other mainstream services
✓The programme is to build capacity for the council to reach out to, engage with and support local Hongkongers
✓The fund aims to support Local Authorities in proactively engaging with their Hong Kong population, promote a feeling of welcome, inclusion and belonging and enable them to thrive in their new communities.
✓As a social mixing ESOL tutor, you will seek to empower learners to strengthen their English language skills through having opportunities to interact with different people in various social mixing activities
✓You will provide an opportunity for others to join the social mixing programme who would benefit from more social interaction and English language practice, thus enhancing their English language skills, building connections and reducing social isolation.
✓You may have experience of the following: Tutor, Teacher, ESOL, English Tutor, PGCE, Education, Assessor, Training, etc.
