Payroll and Financial Accountant
Description✓Goodman Masson are delighted to be supporting a leading humanitarian and international development organisation are looking for a Payroll and Finance Accountant to join their team for a minimum of 3 months.
✓in this role you will be responsible for maintaining and developing the payroll function
✓Main responsibilities:
✓Assist the Payroll & Finance Accountant in managing the payroll process for the organisation.
✓Ensure timely, accurate and efficient processing of payroll for the London office [~370 employees] and the New York office [~20 employees].
✓Use ADP Freedom/HCM [London office payroll] and ADP TotalSource [New York office payroll] to process payroll.
✓Record payroll journal entries in the financial accounting system and carry out reconciliations of payroll control accounts
✓Manage payroll tax matters [PAYE, NIC etc.] to ensure tax liabilities and other related external reporting is met in a timely fashion.
✓Complete all year end payroll processes.
✓Work with the organisations overseas regional offices to ensure accurate calculation and reporting of staff benefits.
✓Collate and manage the payment of all pension payments, including for overseas regional offices.
✓Liaise with external and internal auditors on all payroll related matters.
✓Assist in the reconciliation of travel claims and salary deductions as required.
✓Support the Financial Accounting Manager with ad-hoc tasks
✓SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
✓Qualifications
✓Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2:2 or aboveWork Experience
✓2+ years of experience in payroll administration
✓Knowledge of HMRC, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
✓Strong attention to detail and accuracy
✓Good accounting and controls experience
✓UK Tax experience
✓Systems experience with ADP and Microsoft D365 [preferred]
✓Intermediate Excel [preferred]
✓Excellent written and verbal English
✓Other languages [desirable]
✓Personal skills
✓Excellent communication and influencing skills with people of different teams, levels and countries
✓Professional conduct
