Research Fellow
Description✓Role Title: BSH Research Fellow in Haematology Workforce Modelling [secondment]
✓Salary: Funding will be provided for 1-2 days per week [depending on preference] to the post holder’s employer
✓Reports to: London South Bank University [LSBU] Research Lead
✓Place of Work: Based at LSBU – hybrid working to be decided between the Research team and the post holder
✓Hours: 1-2 days per week [7-14 hours]
✓Contract: Temporary [two year secondment]
✓The Role
✓An exciting opportunity has become available for a two-year BSH research fellowship 1-2 days per week, to review the current haematology workforce and model future proposals, working alongside the Research Team from London South Bank University [LSBU]
✓The post holder will develop their knowledge of different research methodologies, project design and delivery, research grant application and publication with support and guidance from the BSH team and LSBU.
✓Role Purpose
✓The aim of this project is to understand and review the current haematology workforce including wellbeing, and model future haematology workforce proposals.
✓The post holder will work alongside the research team from London South Bank University [LSBU] to design data collection tools, analyse and interpret results and assist with contextualising and influencing policy content.
✓They will develop knowledge of different research methodologies, project design and delivery
✓Opportunity will be provided to access educational content from the NHS Leadership academy and to publish both policy work and peer reviewed publication.
✓Essential Skills and Experience
✓* Fully qualified healthcare professional in a haematology related field
✓* Registered health care professional or trainee doctor working towards CCT in Haematology
✓* Experience in haematology
✓* Demonstrates clear interest and commitment to workforce planning
✓* Experience in the haematology subspecialties and liaison haematology
✓* Ability to offer expert opinion on haematology workforce
✓* Experience with audit/research
✓* Experience of service development and delivery
✓* Well-developed leadership skills
✓* Good organisational skills with successful implementation of change
✓* Strategic thinker with evidence of delivery and leadership of service improvement
✓* Values and utilises teamwork
✓* Ability to inspire others
✓* Excellent communicator, facilitating discussion and involvement
✓* Strong influencing and negotiation skills
✓* Experience of formal and informal teaching or presenting within current role
✓* Awareness of Clinical Governance procedures at Trust level – policies, guidelines and audits
✓* Experience of different research methodologies
✓* Willing to efficiently undertake any travel requirements of the post
