Location: Birmingham
Contract Type: 12 Month FTC
Hours: Part time, 25 hours per week Monday to Friday – and could go up to 37 hours, funding dependent.
Salary: £17,838 - £20,150 for 25 hours [FTE £26,400 - £29,822 for 37 hours] depending on experience and qualifications.
Benefits: We offer hybrid and flexible working, including the opportunity to work compressed hours, and term time only too
We also offer a generous holiday allowance [up to 30 days] and pension contributions.
CASBA is looking for a Senior Advocate to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract and play a key role in achieving our mission.
CASBA is a QPM accredited, independent advocacy service providing non-statutory advocacy to adults with learning disabilities across South Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
Working either from our main office, or wherever citizens need us, we work according to the Advocacy Charter to support up to 300 people a year to improve their lives.

Senior Advocate Responsibilities
• provide direct delivery of independent, person-centred, holistic advocacy to ensure citizens’ rights and entitlements are secured
You will manage your own caseload.
• be responsible for the leadership, performance, and development of a team of two independent advocates and ensure the casework advocacy services meet quality standards and funder requirements.
• maintain and develop effective relationships with key stakeholders.
• produce and interpret casework data.
Senior Advocate Requirements
• The successful candidate will be an experienced Advocate with the ability to supervise a team of two
Alongside monthly supervision of your team, you’ll work with another Senior Advocate, to provide bi-monthly casework supervision.
• You’ll be a good communicator and have demonstrable IT skills with the ability to learn new software and applications – training will be provided
You will take on the role of Safeguarding Lead for the organisation, attending BASB stakeholder meetings
You’ll be supported by the Deputy Safeguarding Lead, the Trustee Safeguarding Lead and the CEO.
