Overview
The Broxbourne Community Cars service is a Royal Voluntary Service volunteers-lead programme providing community transport for trips where mobility issues can make it difficult
Trips usually include getting to or from the hospital or to a GP appointment but can include trips to the shops or into town or to social activities.
Our community transport is comfortable and reliable, with a trusting relationship built between clients and volunteer drivers.
We’re currently looking for Senior Service Assistant to join our dedicated team on a part-time basis, working 6 hours per week for a fixed term contract until the 31st of March 2024.
The Role
As a Senior Service Assistant, you will support the development and delivery of our Broxbourne Community Cars service.
Working with the Service Manager, you will assist with the day-to-day co-ordination of the service, including assisting with clients’ transport, dealing with enquiries and correspondence and managing resources and equipment.
Ensuring the service is delivered in line with our mission, service plan and service level agreements, you will make sure we are within budget, targets are met and you contribute towards evaluation and decision-making processes.
Additionally, you will:
- Maintain Management Information Systems
- Recruit and train volunteers
- Assist with fundraising
- Obtain case studies from volunteers and clients
Working Hours
This is a part-time role, working 6 hours per week for a fixed term contract until the 31st of March 2024.
What you’ll need
To be considered as a Senior Service Assistant, you will need:
- Experience of general administrative processes and maintaining databases
- Good communication skills
- Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office, emails and the Internet
- At a minimum, GCSEs or equivalent at level 4 / Grade C or above in Maths and English
