Support Worker- Modern Slavery

DescriptionAdvocate- Modern slavery- West Midlands- Full Time- Permanent- From 21-24K Per Annum
Your new company
This is an established charity that provides a range of specialist abuse support services to women, men, and children across the West Midlands area
They are responsible for providing specialist services such as providing support and accommodation to victims of human trafficking and modern day slavery in line with the national contractual agreement with the Home office providing them access to specialist support to meet their physical, psychological and social recovery.

Your new role
As a specialist support worker you will be managing a case load of vulnerable clients that have been subjected to human trafficking and/or modern day slavery
You will be involved in all aspects of case management including making risk assessments, needs assessments, journey planning, outcomes and reviews
you will also be responsible for supporting them with their accommodation on things such as maintenance and health and safety.

You will be their main point of contact and advocate when achieving their desired level of independence and integration into the community you will assist with new clients moving in, helping manage their license agreements, manage and build relationships between residents and assist them in moving on to more permanent accommodation once ready and able.

What you'll need to succeed
This is a challenging role that requires a certain level of resilience and emotional strength as the surrounding circumstances and situations can be traumatic
Most of all you will need to be understanding and empathetic and build trust and relationships with your clients
Communication is key and you will need to be able to work in a fast paced environment building relationships with not only your caseload of clients but also relevant external organisations to ensure that they receive effective care and support within an agreed time frame set out by the home office contract.
