About the Role
The Technical Debt Supervisor is responsible for supervising and managing the day-today operations of a Money Advice Team and delivering an accessible client focused debt casework service via face to face and telephone channels, which includes court representation
The Supervisor will ensure that the work of the Team meets service demand and Money and Pensions Service [MaPS] quality standards
To keep own knowledge and experience up to date by providing a quality legal representation service for a small number of clients facing court proceedings for housing and personal debt, including mortgages, secured and unsecured loans, who are not eligible for housing legal aid.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be confident, motivated, and willing to try new things, have excellent communication skills with an ability to work under pressure to achieve targets and outcomes with minimum supervision.
You will need to have supervision experience and knowledge and experience of complex debt casework, and [county] court money claims, and possession proceedings as well as priority and non-priority debt advice, options, and insolvency solutions.
Requirements
* Accredited Member of the Institute of Money Advisers, holding a Certificate in Money Advice Practice and Technical Debt Supervisor qualification/equivalent.
* Qualified as an as an Approved Intermediary for Debt Relief Order purposes.
* Have recent knowledge and experience of specialist debt casework at court representation level.
* Ability to supervise, develop and motivate a team of Debt Advisers to achieve performance, quality, Continuous Professional Development, and training targets.
* Ability to commit to and work within the aims, principles, and policies of the Citizens Advice service.
* Understanding of the issues involved in interviewing clients.
* Ability to analyse and interpret complex information and produce and present clear reports verbally and in writing.
* Have achieved the MaPS competency requirements for a Technical Debt Supervisor [or be working towards these] and have experience of monitoring casework for quality.
* Ability to best use IT systems and packages in the provision of advice services, including Microsoft Office, Teams, and case recording tools e.g

Ability to work with funders and [partner] organisations to earn and maintain the trust of the people with whom Citizens Advice Liverpool deals.

* Ability to lead and contribute to the Money Advice team, including the ability to prioritise own work and the work of others, and take decisions in relation to service delivery and rota cover.
