Youth Inclusion and Safeguarding Coordinator

DescriptionHere at Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service, we are looking for a Youth Inclusion and Safeguarding Coordinator to work across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland in this exciting and challenging role
You will join us on a part-time, fixed term contract for 22 months.  In return, you will receive a competitve salay of £26,845 - £30,151 pro rata plus benefits!
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service are not limited to firefighting
We also respond to a wide range of incidents, increasingly those that involve our rescue capability. We also work closely with other emergency services and our local authority partners to deliver an emergency response and protect our communities.

About Youth Inclusion and Safeguarding Coordinator role:
As a Youth Inclusion and Safeguarding Coordinator, you will support and mentor young people in developing their skills, knowledge, and personal development
This will enable them to become effective role models in the community as well as progressing positively into education, employment, or further training
You will be based on a working Fire Station, where you will provide group education about fire prevention, teamwork, problem solving and communication. 
Fire Skills sessions take place at various planned locations across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland, during the school holidays
 No two programmes will be the same and you will be able to be innovative to set up school holiday programmes.
Working hours: Primarily Wednesday to Friday, including at least one evening, but may include some weekends when needed, depending on the programmes running
There is flexibility in the role and hours worked.
Key responsibilities as a Youth Inclusion and Safeguarding Coordinator:
Writing clear and concise reports

Keeping detailed session plans

Liaising with other agencies such as schools, Social Services, and the Youth Offending Team
Skills and experience required as our Youth Inclusion and Safeguarding Coordinator:
Experience of working with young people [11-19] in a confident and patient manner

Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with their families

Able to flexible to suitable the needs of the business

Time management skills
Full training, management support and uniform will be provided.
