We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Junior/Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team
This is a unique chance to contribute to the success of a high-end residential development in Wembley, London.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the management of the commercial and contractual aspects of the project, with a specific focus on drylining and ceilings.
* Collaborate closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor to prepare accurate and comprehensive bills of quantities, cost estimates, and pricing documents.
* Conduct regular site visits to measure quantities, verify measurements against project plans and specifications, and assess progress.
* Assist in the evaluation of subcontractor bids and negotiation of subcontract agreements, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
* Collaborate with the project team to monitor and manage project costs, including the preparation of cost reports, cash flow projections, and valuations.
* Assist in assessing variations and claims, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and mitigating risks.
* Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient communication and resolution of commercial issues.
* Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and value engineering exercises to optimize project costs.
* Stay updated on industry trends, changes in regulations, and best practices related to drylining and ceiling work in high-end residential projects.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Junior or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, preferably with exposure to drylining and ceiling work.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts.
* Experience in preparing bills of quantities, cost estimates, and pricing documents.
* Familiarity with measuring quantities, conducting site inspections, and assessing progress against project plans and specifications.
* Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
* Proficiency in using relevant quantity surveying software and tools.
* An ambitious and proactive mindset, with a willingness to learn and develop in a challenging environment.
* Relevant qualifications or progress towards achieving professional qualifications [e.g., RICS] would be advantageous.
